RE -ENERGIZE
As most of you know, I was a cabin leader during teen week at Pine Ridge Bible camp. It was an awesome opportunity to get to know some of the youth that have been going to the camp for years, and also those that have come for the first time!
Just the other day I got an email (Ralph got an email and passed it on to me) to create a postcard for youth who attended team camp and LITes (leaders in training)! The postcard is inviting them back to camp for "RE-ENERGIZE" weekened. This was an awesome opportunity to take what I experienced at camp and translate it into something tangible for the youth.
Re-energize is a weekend in October where youth can come back and get reacquainted with each other and some staff while also being encouraged in the word! It's a super amazing idea that I've never heard of anyone else doing!
There has also been some talk about me possibly going back to be a leader for this weekend! So not only was I there for the original Teen week, I also got to create the advertising that goes out to each of these youth, and now I get to round it all off with possibly being there to encourage them in person! How cool is that?!
Honestly, I've been really enjoying every single piece of field Ministry that I have been doing, but I'm also extremely excited about all of the art that I get to create to be used in practical ways throughout the mission. I get to bring the two things that I absolutely love which is people and design and put it all together in what I'm doing!
God is definitely showing me that Ministry does not fit into this perfect little box with a bow on top. Ministry doesn't always look like going into prisons, food drives, soup kitchens, or being on the front lines in the reserves. It also doesn't always look like sitting at a desk all day, opening donations, sending out mail, and staring at a screen. The ministry that I'm called to definitely has parts of all of these things, but God is showing me that Ministry can change day to day and to be open to his leading in everything.
I'm so thankful for the opportunity that he has given me and the things that I'm learning working with Northern Canada Evangelical mission.
