Prayer Cards
Updated: Jul 19, 2022
You see them on the fridge at your grandmothers, your parents or your friends. You may see them on the bulletin board at church. They may wind up in the stack of papers or mail in the drawer that has needed cleaned out for a few years or they may be hanging on a mirror as a reminder to be prayed for every morning as the person is getting ready. That's where one of mine are.
It was my second last Sunday attending Prairie View Community Church full time before moving to Prince Albert. One of the ladies came up to me and shared something that is so special.
She was a missionary in the Philippines when she was in her early 20's. Before having a husband and two beautiful little girls. She went to the other side of the mountains to share Jesus Christ with the people there and share hope.
She told me that my prayer card and testimony of wanting to go into full time missions reminded her of her time on the mission field and how special of a time it was. She told me that she placed my prayer card on her mirror and that her daughters asked about why "that lady" was on her mirror. She explained to them that I was a missionary and that I was going to share Jesus with people and that she put me there to remember to pray for me every morning.
Prayer cards are not just clutter that ends up on the fridge or in stacks of paper getting ready to be thrown out. Prayer cards are a special way to remind people to pray. Prayer cards are reminders to people to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. Prayer Cards are a good conversation starter about Jesus Christ and the hope He brings to the world. They are a good way to be remembered when you don't see people for a while because you are out on the mission field.
The Prayer Card showcased here is a lady sharing the Gospel in Nipawin, Sk. I get to be apart of telling her story, even if I don't know her personally myself. I got to help create a tool and a resource for her to use everyday when coming in contact with new people.
