A Bible for All!
Updated: Apr 18, 2023
At the end of March, the young adults' Bible study went to Saskatoon! Although the video (at the end of this post) emphasizes the fun we had, mini golfing and doing the rope course, the main reason we went to Saskatoon was to get each of the young adults a new Bible!
Many young adults who came to our Bible study did not have their own Bible. It was either a used one left behind at the back of the church or a relative's Bible. It was time for them to get their own! Do you know that feeling of walking through the Bible bookstore and looking at all the options? There is excitement but an overwhelmed feeling as there are so many choices! Once you sort through all the options and finally hold the one that will be your new Bible, a smile spreads across your face as you imagine all the wonderful time you will spend in God's word, being in relationship with Him.
Since getting these Bibles, we have seen beautiful growth happening in the young adults. So many of them have been spending significant time in the Word of God because of these Bibles. They have been asking questions, and the conversation has been more profound than ever before. Some of the young adults that were struggling to understand have had their hearts softened and their eyes open since this trip.
We have only one more week of Bible study and have already said goodbye to Jordan W (another intern with NCEM and my roommate), who had helped with the young adults since the beginning. She was great at bouncing ideas off of and helping answer questions that the other young adults had. She was a great friend to the other young adults and me. Her last day brought many tears and a solemn mood to the room. Now with the last one coming up on the 26th of April, there is a heaviness in my heart as the group is coming to an end.
Please continue praying for the young adults. Pray for someone to come into their lives to help guide them on their walk with God. They are all newer Christians and have trouble understanding the difference between genuine Christian thoughts and things that just sound good. They are all wonderful, have great strengths, and can add many things to the Body of Christ. I pray that they step up in these areas and become leaders to other new believers. I pray they stay on the narrow path and walk alongside Jesus.
